What is ‘Public Services’?
The UK’s Public Services industry is one of the largest employers in the country. It works to develop and implement government policies and helps deliver a huge range of services to the public. A BTEC in Public Services is designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success when moving towards a career in the uniformed services. Those who are attracted to the Public Services sector will find it modern and dynamic, committed to providing employees with a great many opportunities to develop and a positive working environment where they can really make a difference.

What skills will I gain from studying public services?
You will develop:-
- An awareness of the public services in general and the roles they play in society
- An awareness of the wider political and social environment of the public services both in a national and international context
- An understanding of the need for physical fitness, communication, teamwork and problem solving skills that are important to this area
