Work Related Learning
In this section you will find information about the Work Related Curriculum at Park Hall Academy. Details about activities the students have been involved in, educational visits and details about work related placements.
Our mission statement is simple…..
To raise the profile of careers education and work related opportunities. To promote students' autonomy and effectiveness in making decisions through self-awareness and personal development.
The Applied Learning Coordinator is instrumental to the delivery of careers and all staff are expected to play a role in identifying and promoting those key skills.
Park Hall Academy careers centre is located in the library and the Connexions Centre in L16, all staff and students are welcome to make use of the resources. The library houses higher education material and a wide range of information including details of modern apprenticeships, sponsorship availability and job opportunities. The material is regularly updated with the latest editions to ensure that information is relevant and current.
In addition, we have IT programmes to assist staff, students and parents. Kudos is an interactive database which identifies possible careers interest. U –explore directly supports the delivery of careers education and work-related learning across the whole curriculum. We also hold information relating to higher education courses in the UK which enables students to collate data on possible HND and degree courses before consulting the relevant prospectuses.
