Welcome to the Department of Technology All pupils in KS3 take Design and Technology as part of a rotation arrangement including ICT, CAD\CAM, Resistant Materials, Product Design, Food and Textiles. At KS4 Technology is optional and currently students are able to choose to take GCSE Food Technology, BTEC First Certificate in Construction, BTEC First Diploma in Hospitality, GCSE Product Design and BTEC Fashion Textiles. We are the lead school in Solihull for the Hospitality Diploma. Control including CAD\CAM is delivered through Design and Technology at KS3 and pupils make extensive use of ICT in their work at KS4. All teachers in the Department contribute to the delivery of ICT. The department consists of 5 (3 workshops and 2 food rooms) state of the art rooms. Students have access to extensive CAD\CAM facilities, internet and colour printing facilities within the department. Interactive technology is also available. The Technology Department has gone through a period of rapid change in the last two years and a new department is now emerging. The curriculum area is developing and we are housed within superb, well resourced accommodation in a new building.
