Music is taught at Key Stage 3 for 1 hour per week. The pupils have the opportunities to experience singing, playing on the keyboards and percussive work.

Key Stage 4 follow the Edexcel GCSE course syllabus for 2 hours per week.

The course is broken down into Practical coursework and a Theory exam.

Practical Coursework = 60% of the Final Grade broken down:

15% = Solo Performance

15% = Ensemble Performance

15% = Composition 1

15% = Composition 2

Listening and Appraising Exam = 40% of the Final Grade

The Listening and Appraising exam is based on 4 areas of study and set pieces of work, which will be studied over the duration of the 2-year course.
